Every chapter in Sigma Kappa has their own unique way of practicing philanthropy work. Here at Gamma Alpha, there are a number of different events/activities that we host that help raise money and awareness for our philanthropies. In the fall, there is an event called Memory Ball which is a dinner followed by a silent auction where family members are welcome to attend. All of the proceeds raised that night go directly toward Alzheimer's research. Last year at memory ball, Gamma Alpha raised over $12,000. Another big philanthropic event that we host is called "Sig Kap n' Cheese". From 10pm- 2am our chapter house is open and serving $5.00 all you can eat Mac n' Cheese. All of the proceeds go to The Sigma Kappa foundation where it is then distributed to our philanthropies; Alzheimer's research, Inherit the Earth, and The Maine Sea Coast Mission.
